I support individuals in high-conflict relationships (violence, emotional abuse, coercive control). If your needs, boundaries, or reality are being repeatedly dismissed in a relationship, it can be hard to trust your own voice.
Therapy can help you feel steadier, clearer, and more connected to yourself. You may already have left the relationship, but the impact of control, fear, or emotional harm is still with you. Support to understand what happened and begin reclaiming your autonomy and wellbeing can help you move past those impacts.
I also support people who are experiencing compulsions (such as substance use, or binge eating), symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, or anxiety and people who are considering major life transitions (including undertaking recovery from trauma).
These concerns can all involve healing from relational traumas, resolving attachment wounds or updating coping strategies to be more effective. Along the way, I hope to support you to imagine a happier, healthier and more fulfilling future.
I am registered with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and abide by the associations code of ethics and standards (PACFA Reg.Certified Practising 32708).
Evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy and techniques from Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) can be tailored to provide support that works for you.
What works for some issues (such as CBT for anxiety reduction) and individuals is less effective for other issues (like healing the impact of intergenerational trauma) or people. What works for you is something we will keep checking on in our sessions.

I retrained to be a counsellor at mid life. My Doctorate was in Sociology, which focuses on understanding how culture helps to shape people’s lives and stories. Some stories are more helpful than others. Stories can be re-written in therapy to serve you better.
